Imagination Brought to Life in "The Spiderwick Chronicles!"

The house might be new to the Grace family children, but as they soon learn, several creatures have been living there long before they arrived on the scene! No Maybe About it! "Definitely, Maybe" is an Enjoyable Romantic Comedy!

When his daughter Maya (Abigail Breslin) starts hounding him about how he met her mother, ad executive Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds) turns the story into a guessing game. He tells Maya about three past relationships while she tries to figure out which woman ultimately turned into her Mom.

The possibilities include Will's first love, Emily (Elizabeth Banks), who he had dated in college, but grew apart from when he moved to New York City to work for Bill Clinton's presidential campaign. It was there he met April, the second potential candidate (played by Isla Fisher). She's more of a free spirit who loves to travel and read and sees Will as more of a friend. Then there is Summer (Rachel Weisz), a beautiful and smart writer who enjoys Will's passion for debate and academia.

Because the relationship with her mother isn't working out and the couple is divorcing, telling the story brings both Maya and Will great understanding about why the love didn't last. Maybe, just maybe, true love is still out there and both Maya and Will think they know who he should revisit.

The cast does a superb job of telling this cute story! Disney Spellbinds us Again With "Enchanted!"

Our only question about "Enchanted" is� what took Disney so long to come up with this brilliant idea? The movie starts in classic Disney animated style as we meet "Giselle," who lives in the cartoon world of "Andalasia." Longing for a love of her own, "Giselle" is smitten when she meets "Prince Edward." The two decide instantly that this is true love and they should marry right away.

The only one not happy about their union is Edward's step-mother "Queen Narissa. " If Edward marries, Narissa will have to forfeit her crown to Edward and his bride. Narissa casts and spell and sends Giselle far, far away� to real life, modern day, New York City.

Giselle must navigate this new, live-action world on her own and quickly learn that "real" humans aren't always so nice. Lucky for her, she soon meets a charming, single Dad named Robert (played by Patrick Dempsey) and his daughter who agree to help her find her way home. They just have no clue as to how far away her home lies.

Prince Edward finds out that Giselle is missing and starts out to find her. He takes a resourceful chipmunk named "Pip" with him but they soon find out that while Pip can talk in "Andalasia," chipmunks don't talk in New York City. Narissa also sends her henchman, Nathaniel to guide Edward in the wrong direction.

Nothing can keep true love apart, so when Edward and Giselle are finally reunited, Narissa decides she must go to New York to stop the happy couple herself. (The amazing Susan Sarandon brings her to "real life")By this point, however, Giselle has been spending a lot of time with Robert and his daughter. Is Giselle's true happiness really back in "Andalasia" or is it in this new world? You'll just have to watch this fun fantasy to see.

"Beowulf:" A Classic Story Becomes a Ground Breaking Movie

What started out as an epic poem has now been transformed into an extraordinary movie experience. "Beowulf" is the story of a kingdom that is being terrorized by an evil monster. A courageous warrior named "Beowulf" comes to the kingdom's aide but is swayed by the monster's mother (played by Angelina Jolie).

This version of the film used motion-capture technology like they used in "The Polar Express." It's an interesting way to combine real life with animation. It proves to be a suitable tool for bringing this particular story to the big screen. This is especially true during the amazing battle sequences that would have been difficult to stage with real actors fighting mythical creatures.

Nothing Much Stronger Than "Family Ties: The Third Season"

"Family Ties" first debuted in the '80's but through the ingenious invention of television on DVD, this beloved classic can be enjoyed any hour of any day. First the series got rave reviews for its amazing cast and humorous writing, but now is probably most remembered as the series that made Michael J. Fox a star.

The early reviews were right. Starring Meredith Baxter Birney, Michael Gross, Michael J. Fox, Justine Bateman and Tina Yothers as the Keaton family, millions of viewers tuned in each week to see what kind of trouble the kids or the parents were going to get in to and how the rest of the family was going to get them out of it. With the premise being parents from a "Hippie" background raising three very different children, there was constant clashing of opinions and values just like the audience's family.

"Becoming Jane" Is a Beautiful Story About a Beautiful Story-Teller

Audiences have been reading Jane Austen's novels for over one hundred and fifty years now but who knew that her own life story could make such a beautiful movie? Now "Becoming Jane" has come to DVD and if you missed this one in the theaters, you should really add this well-made movie to your home video collection.

Anne Hathaway who charmed us in the "Princess Diaries" and went head to head with Meryl Streep in "The Devil Wears Prada" does an amazing job of bringing one our most beloved authors to life. The story takes us back to the late 1700's where women were supposed to be seen and not so much heard. It was especially restricting for Jane Austen, a bright twenty year old who loved to read and write.

Jane's life is complicated when she meets Tom Lefroy, (the amazingly talented James McAvoy) a cocky lawyer in training who initially dismisses her writing because he feels that she has no experiences to embellish on paper. After as much interaction between a man and a woman as the times would allow, the two fall in love.

The relationship does not sit well with Jane's family who want their daughter to marry the somewhat drab Mr. Wisley, a gentleman who stands to inherit a fortune and prime real estate. Jane's torn between following her heart or marrying for the sake of helping her family.

Austen fans will enjoy a glimpse into the life of the author and will recognize several characters and situations from her real life that found their way into her most popular novels. This is movie is a most see for the hopeless romantic in all of us.

This one is called "Twitches Too" and the talented actresses reprise their roles as "Alex" and "Camryn," twins with special powers who were separated at birth and reunited 21 years later. The girls are still learning how to deal with their magical abilities and each other in this fun and spooky sequel.

The girls have set out to find their birth mother, a witch named Miranda but something doesn't want them to succeed. An evil presence is threatening the girls and their family and only when their powers are combined can they stop the evil force. One of the problems is that the girls still aren't exactly sure what their powers are and they certainly haven't figured out all the ways to use them.

This is a great story about getting to know your family and yourself and realizing that you are often capable of doing more than you ever dreamed you could do (especially when you have friends and family to help). As an even bigger bonus, the disc is loaded with great extras like a behind the scenes look at the making of the film and how the cast learned to do magic. There's also an alternate scene that's fun to check out.

"The Aristocats: Special Edition" is the Purr-Fect Gift for Valentines Day!

Disney proves, once again, that their stories are timeless as "The Aristocats: Special Edition" comes to DVD on February 5. First released to movie theaters in 1970, the story centers around a cat named Duchess and her three kittens.

This cat family live a luxurious existence and are about to inherit millions from their loving owner but a jealous employee is trying to see that the cats get nothing.
