Bailey Buntain Returns to ABC Family With a Guest Appearance on "Baby Daddy"

ABC Family fans came to love actress Bailey Buntain as "Ginny Thompson," on the series "Bunheads." We also laughed with her when she guest-starred on the ABC hit "The Middle" as "Sue Heck's" High School mentor, "Jenna Taylor." The laughs with Bailey are sure to continue when she guest stars on the ABC Family hit "Baby Daddy."

The episode titled "The WingMom" airs on April 2 at 8:30PM. In this episode, Ben gets desperate enough to let his Mom set him up on a date. Things are actually going well with "Bailey" until Ben realizes that she is a mini-version of his mother! Eww!

Bailey Buntain plays the young lady (also named Bailey) who wants to be the love of Ben's life and is not easily dismissed. Will she ever get the hint that one Bonnie in the family is more than enough?

We chatted with the actress slash dancer to find out the scoop!

"I actually did a different show that had the same casting director," Bailey begins about how she booked working on "Baby Daddy." "So when they were looking at filling the guest spot, my name came up just from the previous job, so the stars aligned and I definitely lucked out with it. It was a really fun experience!"

"Bailey's actually a mini-Bonnie," she explains when asked what this character was like. "Which is so funny because of course, Bonnie would set Ben up with a mini her. She is spunky and she talks super fast. She's really funny! She's a firecracker of a girl."

"I think there are sides of me that are like her," she reasons. "Playing someone who is supposed to be like the character of 'Bonnie,' was, as an actress, so much fun because Melissa Peterman is so great! I got to watch her and observe her. There were certain things that they wanted to really 'hit,' that were very similar so that was really, really fun to play around with. She was so gracious and giving and super communicative with making it all work and funny! I think it turned out pretty good!"

What can she tell us about this episode? "At the beginning, Bonnie and Ben both kind of realize that Ben is really failing in the dating department. So he decides to give his Mom a shot and set him up. So Bonnie meets Bailey and fixes Ben up with her. At first, he really likes her. Then he slowly realizes 'Like, this is a tiny version of my mother and that's super creepy!' So he tries to break up with her but of course, she does not go away super easily. So she gets kind of creepy. A little stalk-y. Then Danny accidently hits her with his car. So that adds a whole 'nother layer and gets them in some serious trouble. So then... Riley kind of develops a plan to get rid of Bailey and you'll see if she succeeds or not!"

We would think it would be daunting to join an already established cast for work on a set but not for Bailey! "They've had quite a few seasons and they're all really good friends and work so well together. So it's kind of being like a first day of school type thing," she confesses. "They were so welcoming and so much fun. They really made it super easy on me. I felt really comfortable, really quickly. They were great!"

After the "Baby Daddy" episode airs, Bailey has a couple of other projects coming up that you should watch out for! "I have a new show on MTV called 'Faking it.' That's going to premiere on April 22 at 10:30. I just finished the sequel to 'Flowers in The Attic,' 'Petals on the Wind' on Lifetime. I haven't gotten an air date yet but I think it will be this summer." We will definitely keep an eye out for those!

The actress feels blessed to be able to move between theater, television, and dance (amongst other creative outlets). "Something that I am super thankful for is that I really haven't done two jobs that are similar which is so much fun because it keeps me super challenged, which is great. Theater was my first love, so I am always going to jump at any opportunity that is live theater. Sitcoms are super fun because you have an audience so it's pretty similar." She says she just couldn't pick one outlet over the others. "I like the variation!"

Bailey is definitely a rising talent and we look forward to watching what comes next for this sweet actress! Don't forget to catch her on Baby Daddy - April 2nd!
