XM Satellite Radio Brings the Fan Club Parties to the Fans!
Highway 16 to broadcast selected events coast-to-coast
XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading satellite radio provider, announced this week plans to broadcast several country music Fan Club parties during next month's CMA Music Fest in Nashville. The week's events range from intimate question-and-answer sessions between artists and fans to acoustic performances, and kicks off with Chely Wright's 5th Annual "Reading, Writing and Rhythm" Benefit Concert, broadcast live from the Wildhorse Saloon.
"The partnership between XM Satellite Radio and "Reading, Writing, & Rhythm" is invaluable for furthering the accomplishments and mission for putting music into public schools," says Chely Wright. "This charity has been an amazing success since its inception in late 1999, and with XM's LIVE broadcast of the concert on June 7th, the sky's the limit! I am personally thrilled to have XM's support for 'RW&R' and I am hopeful that this will only be the beginning of a great partnership!"
In addition to the "RW&R" concert, XM will showcase the fan club parties of Tracy Bryd & Andy Griggs, Terri Clark, Dierks Bentley, and Phil Vassar. Additional fan club party broadcasts are still to be announced, and those without XM Radio can hear the broadcasts via a free, 3-day trial of XM Radio Online at http://www.xmradio.com/.
"Just like the CMA Music Fest, XM celebrates the up-close and intimate connection country artists have with their fans," shares Jon Anthony, Highway 16 Program Director. "It's a relationship unique to our genre, but we realize that not every country music fan is able to be in Nashville that week. This is an innovative and exciting way that artists can reach out to those fans nationwide and bring the party to them!"
XM Satellite Radio, which broadcasts daily from studios inside the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, recently announced achieving more than 4 million subscribers, accounting for more than 70% of the satellite radio audience.
