Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace's Co-Headlining Tour Is Right On The Music and The Money!

By: Sarah Messer

There's more for your money as Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace co-headline a stellar tour. A recent concert night in Huntington, WV proved that a ticket to this non-stop musical ride is a worthy investment. And wait? there's more! Opening act, Flyleaf, proved worthy enough for audience members to boast even more bang for their buck.

Flyleaf started their energy packed set with "Fully Alive", and that is exactly how the crowd felt. They didn't waste any time and started right into their next song "Beautiful Bride", a song off their new album "Memento Mori".

If you had never heard of Flyleaf before then just watching bassist Pat Seals would make you a fan. From his high flying act where he jumps off the box amp onto the stage or doing a full 360 while still playing the bass is enough to get your energy going. Lead singer Lacey was nothing short of amazing with every song as she kept the flow and melodies in check.

Flyleaf played most of their new songs, but for the older fans they played old favorites such as "So Sick", "All Around Me" and "Cassie". The set ended with Lacey giving a very inspirational speech saying how everyone can feel down sometimes but they just need to overcome hardships and "Arise," which was the title of the last song from the new CD.

As Flyleaf made their way off stage Breaking Benjamin began to set up and the crowd became more than antsy. One by one Benjamin, Aaron, Mark, and Chad made their way on stage and began the set with "I Will Not Bow", "Until The End", and "Had Enough".

The screen then turned to a familiar scene for all of the video game fanatics out there as Breaking Benjamin began to play "Blow Me Away," a song they made specifically for the Halo 2 soundtrack. The set list was fueled by many fan favorites and popular songs heard on the radio but then the mood became calm and they began to play their rendition of Aerosmith's "Dream On" where in the background faces of familiar famous musicians would flash on screen.

Towards the end of the set the crowd was rewarded with members of the band throwing t-shirt's, guitar picks, and drum sticks into the crowd. Breaking Benjamin then ended the night with their most popular song "Diary of Jane" for a crowd of more than happy fans. If you haven't seen Breaking Benjamin live then you definitely will not be disappointed.

As if the night couldn't get any better sirens started flashing all around the stage, attracting all the attention to center stage where Three Days Grace began walked out and wasted no time getting everyone jumping by starting out with "Break" and "The Good Life". Lead singer Adam Gontier then instructed everyone to sing the next song which was their first song to be played on the radio "I Hate Everything About You" and the crowd did not disappoint. From there the crowd was not shy about singing the next few songs "Pain" "Bitter Taste" and "Home".

The energy was at an all time high for the night and that's when drummer Neil Sanderson gave a jaw dropping drum solo, where the drum kit even began to spin around full circle on stage. While everyone is distracted Neil stops and from behind the crowd Adam starts singing "I Don't Care" and walks his way through fans and back onto the stage.

Three Days Grace never let the energy die in the room, every fan in the crowd were all smiles from the first song to the last. Three Days grace is definitely a performance band and loves the crowd, go check them out on tour!

All three acts held the crowd's attention through their powerful sets and left their enthusiastic fans wanting more. Not only was the night worthy of the price paid for the tickets, it was well worth everyone's precious time as well.

Rascal Flatts: A Decade in The Music Business and They are Still "Unstoppable!"

By: Emily Burdette

The music road warriors known as Rascal Flatts brought their high energy music extravaganza to Charleston, WV on January 23. The "Unstoppable" tour (presented by JC Penny) has been selling out from Columbus to Los Angeles and there is a reason for that! We "take you there."

Saturday night began with a strong opening performance of "Forever Road" by Darius Rucker. Rucker played an energetic, hour-long set for his audience which included his first country single, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It," "Alright," "Drinkin' and Dialin'," and the sentimental song, "It Won't Be Like This For Long." Rucker, popular for his days as lead singer for Hootie and the Blowfish, sang hits from the band's 1994 "Cracked Rear View" album including "Let Her Cry" and "Only Wanna Be With You." He also threw in the classic and well-known country song, "Family Tradition," which is a Hank Williams, Jr. original.

While the crowd enjoyed Rucker's performance, the cheers grew considerably louder with anticipation for headliners Rascal Flatts to make to it to the stage. After a short wait, the band made their appearance as the lights got brighter and the moving stage lifted the guys up and into view. Lead singer Gary, Jay, and Joe Don opened the show with the upbeat "Summer Nights." The guys expressed their excitement to be in "West By God Virginia" many times throughout the night, which seemed to please the crowd. The band's set list included several of their number one singles such as "Stand," "Fast Cars and Freedom," "Mayberry" and their biggest number one hit "Bless the Broken Road."

Other songs worthy enough to make this show were "Me and My Gang," "Still Feels Good," and "American Living." At one point during the night, Jay began to sing John Denver's "Country Roads" as he began to engage with the crowd and share that both he and Gary have family from West Virginia. He yelled, "Every time we come to West Virginia it feels good!" That really got the crowd going! While Gary stepped off the stage for a few songs, Jay and Joe Don held their own busting out some older popular tunes like "Lean On Me" and the beginning part of Billy Ray Cyrus' "Achy Breaky Heart." The two guys reminisced with the audience about their time filming "Hannah Montana: The Movie," boasting about the great job they did acting and singing in the film. That said, be sure to catch them on an upcoming episode of CSI in March. With Jay sitting at the piano and Joe Don on guitar, the two sing "Backwards" which was featured on the "Hannah Montana: The Movie" Soundtrack.

With Gary back onstage, the band's debut single, "Prayin' for Daylight" begins. Then, the sad song starts. "Here Comes Goodbye" was the first single off Rascal Flatts' "Unstoppable" album and their 10th #1 single. The guys also pointed out that 2010 is their 10th year together as the Rascal Flatts.

As the night begins to wind down, the "I Melt" video starts to play on the screen behind them as they sing to the popular song. All of a sudden, Joe Don leads into Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" and Gary happily continues. Just as he walks down the walkway that leads out from the main stage, a young girl in the audience reaches up to hand Gary a bouquet of red and white roses. He shows his appreciation by singing the next few lines of the song as if he is singing them to her. "Love You Out Loud" follows, as well as, "Take Me There," when another girl in the crowd holding up a sign that reads, "I wanna sing with you," takes over the lyrics for a couple of lines.

We got to see a short, inspiring video on the charity work that Rascal Flatts does for the Make A Wish Foundation and the band sang "My Wish." The guys then go into their big crossover hit "What Hurts the Most." Finally, it is time for the show to end. The very energetic song "Bob That Head" takes the Rascal Flatts to a close. Of course, the crowd was sad to see them leave and an encore seemed evident. And, sure enough, the screens come back on, the lights go up, and the guys are back! Colors of red, white, and blue come over the screens in the background as they break out into their rendition of the Beatles' "Revolution 1." Darius Rucker returns to the stage and the four of them sing the Hootie and the Blowfish song, "Hold My Hand." The night is ended with the exciting "Life is a Highway."

The band appeared to be in great spirits the whole night, along with Darius Rucker and the crowd. Theirs is a show I would recommend going to if you are a country music fan. Along with a great set list, Gary, Jay, and Joe Don had a way with the fans. They certainly know how to entertain and keep their audience laughing at the silly things they like to say!

The 2010 portion of the "Unstoppable" Tour is just getting started. Be sure to head to

Creed has "Overcome" A Lot!

Several years after the band decided to part ways, Creed is back and ready to bring the music to their fans. They're doing this with a new tour and a new album, both titled, "Full Circle." The troubles that plagued the group are a thing of the past and the talented musicians are focused, once again, on making good music and having it heard. The tour recently made a stop in Birmingham, AL and Enterteenment was fortunate to catch the show.

Due to the struggling economy, ticket sales weren't as strong as they should have been. That didn't diminish the energy in the band's performance, giving each and every song one hundred and ten percent. You could tell it was about the fans that were able to make it and the audience returned the favor by singing along to almost every song, sometimes drowning out the band?s vocals.

The show opened with pyrotechnics as the band performed "Bullets", from their second album, "Human Clay." Up next came, "Overcome", the first single from the current CD, "Full Circle." The remainder of the set list was a mix of their hits including, "My Own Prison," "What If," "My Sacrifice," and "With Arms Wide Open." The encore slowed things down with their current single, "Rain." All too soon, the night ended with the hugely popular hit, "Higher." The screams and applause from the fans proved that this reunion tour was long overdue! Welcome back guys. The music scene missed you!

There's Something for Everyone on This Year's "American Idols Live" Tour!

GroupOtherFile VersionsWarning: Restoring an older version will overwrite the current file without backing it up. New ArchiveArchive Name Back to Control PanelWeb Site .htaccess EdiOne of the things that "Idol" seems to stress during their search for world-wide superstars is that a true singer can sing any genre of music and still be engaging and worthy of our time and attention. That is why singers from all across the music spectrum step up to the challenge of America's highest-rated television talent show. It's also why there is something for almost every kind of music lover on the 2009 American Idols Live tour. (Except maybe you? Polka lovers!)

The top ten contestants have packed their bags and loaded up tour buses to bring a ton of music to 50 cities across the country. The tour began on July 5 in Portland, Oregon and concludes on September 15 in Manchester, NH. We caught up with the show in Columbus, OH and can't wait to give you a play by play. Anyone who is seeing the show soon and wants to be surprised should stop reading now!

Former Idol's videos played on huge screens while the crowd found their seats at the Schottenstein Center. Fans sang along to the likes of Daughtry, Carrie Underwood and last year's winner, David Cook. Soon the Idols would appear in the order of how they left the show.

That means that Michael Sarver had the somewhat daunting task of getting the show started. Michael seemed really happy to be there and that enthusiasm carried over in to the audience. The people on the floor were on their feet immediately and didn't sit down until the final note of the last song was played, well over two hours later (Except for intermission of course).

Michael's first song was "In Love With the Girl" by Gavin DeGraw. That was followed by "Closer" by Ne-Yo. The Texas native seemed very at home on the stage and had no problem interacting with the crowd.

Amy Winehouse, selling over five million copies of albums world wide, proves that there is an audience for the type of music that Megan Joy sings. Megan took the stage in a bright pink dress and a blond afro wig. She performed Corinne Bailey Rae's "Put Your Records On" followed by the Winehouse song "Tears Dry on Their Own." I'm going to take the AI judges word that she's got the goods to be successful because I'm not well versed enough in this genre to offer an opinion. It just seemed so out of place among the Pop and R and B oriented finalists.

There were several instances where it struck me that the finalists did not get to show what they are truly made of during their stint on "Idol" and Scott MacIntyre was the first one to illustrate the point. He was the first performer on this tour to get to use the elevator on the stage when he suddenly appeared out of nowhere seated at a piano that hadn't been there five seconds ago. It was a neat effect that was used several more times but somehow never got old. You never knew who or what would be popping up!

Scott seemed "more free" than he had on the show as his hands sailed across the keys on a cover of the Keane song "Bend and Break." He then joked with the audience about the "high five heard round the world" and gave a glimpse of a funny personality that didn't quite get enough time on the show either. He sat down at the piano again and gave a strong rendition (both vocally and instrumentally) of Vanessa Carlton's "1,000 Miles" before disappearing into the floor.

Lil Rounds was another one that I felt never quite hit her stride on the show like she did at the concert. She paid homage to Mary J. Blige by combining two songs ("Be Without You" and "Just Fine") and worked the stage like she was born on it. She held her own on Alicia Keys' "No One" and then got the crowd moving with her version of Beyonce's "Single Ladies." It will be interesting to see what happens next for Lil. With the right songs, she could certainly make her mark on top 40 radio.

Anoop Desai is memorable as the one you thought just missed the top 12 but then they announced that he was staying and they were making it a top 13. He ended up coming in sixth and is using his ten or so minutes on stage to remind everyone just why he made it that far. He started with the Willie Nelson (or Elvis) classic "Always on My Mind" and you could hear the appreciative screams of the Anoop fans in the house. Next up was "Mad" by Ne-Yo and again I noted how well these entertainers could work a stage after only being on the road less than two months. He closed his set with "My Prerogative," a fan favorite from his time on the show. Anoop was showing off some sexy dance moves that also proved to be a fan favorite with the audience.

I remember liking Matt Giraud on the show. I don't remember loving him the way I did after seeing him live. He is another one that seems to shine a little brighter now that the pressure of the competition and the judging are over. He burst on to the stage during the opening strains of the Black Crowe's (or Otis Redding's) "Hard to Handle," and then more than held the crowd's attention when he slowed things down (there's that piano coming up out of the floor again) with a Ray Charles like rendition of "Georgia on Mind." Donning his trademark hat for the number, he seemed right at home playing and singing in front of thousands of people. He picked up the pace a little with a rousing rendition of The Fray's "You Found Me" which once again, left you with the impression that you just didn't get the gist of his talent while he was on "Idol." Another one to keep an eye on when the tour ends and the future begins.

The top 5 returned to the stage (dressed to the nines and looking snazzy) to get just a little more music in before an intermission and handing the stage over to the Top 4. Megan and Lil did a duet of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You." Scott and Matt (and now TWO magic pianos from out of the floor) wailed on a dueling-pianos rendition of Billy Joel's "Tell Her About it." Michael reappeared to do a solid rendition of "Suspicious Minds" and then Anoop started the beginning of "Beggin" before being joined by the rest of the gang to finish out the number and show off some fancy choreography. Then it was break time.

During intermission, I tried to make some notes of my overall impression so far. Basically I reasoned that this was a good opportunity for each performer to really show off who they are and who they hope to be as music makers in the future. Each person got to choose the songs they performed in the hopes that the fans could glimpse in to the future and support them making music like what they were hearing during this tour. Not that "Idol" toned them down in any way. I just don't think some of them had enough time to find their voice and then hand it to us they way that they have learned to do it now.

I quickly got distracted by the roar of the crowd as every time they showed Adam Lambert on the screen, the place erupted into loud piercing screams. Was this a preview of what was to come? It didn't even come close.

With the lights going down, and the people on the floor on their feet again, we were ready to get back into the action. Allison Ireheta injected a shot of pure rock into the mix with a loud version of Pink's "So What." Staying behind the microphone stand and strumming an electric guitar, the young performer seemed to be having an off night for some reason. She missed a couple of words here and there and seemed to get lost a couple of times. As soon as the song finished, she shook it off and started even stronger on her second number, Janis Joplin's "Cry Baby." Showing no signs of trouble with her second tune, she finally hit her stride on Heart's "Barracuda." You truly marveled at how someone so young could command such a presence already.

Danny Gokey hit the stage singing Michael Jackson's "P.Y.T." The crowd seemed to be having fun with him? singing and dancing along. He then segued into the salsa-flavored "Maria Maria" (Santana). It sounded good but something seemed unnatural about the dance moves that accompanied it. A lot of people in the audience screamed in excitement so maybe it was just me.

I must say that the most emotional moment of the evening does go to Danny. He performed the Rascal Flatts ballad "What Hurts the Most." Those in the audience who followed "Idol" last season know that Danny lost his wife not long before trying out for the show. The knowledge of that awful fact, coupled with the delivery of the ballad made hearing it and seeing it live heart wrenching. If music is supposed to move people, this one certainly hit the mark.

That song was followed by a heartfelt flow of words from Danny to the audience that felt way more intimate than sitting in a huge coliseum hearing a performer on stage. He spoke about the foundation he had started after his wife died called Sophia's Heart Foundation (SophiasHeart.org). The foundation had just awarded three scholarships to three deserving students? two of them from Ohio and one from Tennessee. Those three students and their families were attending the concert and had lunch with Danny earlier in the day.

Danny is a great example of how to take something incredibly negative and turn it in to a positive. "Never be defined by a mistake!" he encouraged the crowd. He then gently reminded them that sometimes bad things do happen but everyone still has dreams. "Don't let those bad things kill those dreams!" he pleaded before launching into his last song, the motivational anthem "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts.

It was a strong set but quickly overshadowed by what came next. As soon as the number two flickered across the video screens, the place went absolutely crazy. The first and second levels of the arena sprang to their feet and the screams reached a new high. It was like everyone held their breath as the first few notes of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" filled the air and then? there stood Adam Lambert.

It's really hard to explain the phenomenon that is Adam, but let me start by saying this? remember what I said about everyone finally getting to really be themselves on this tour? Apparently what everyone saw on "American Idol" was half-Adam or maybe even one-fourth Adam. What was unleashed that night on tour was certainly nothing that anyone will forget anytime soon.

The first thing parents probably notice is that Adam's set is not exactly G-rated which is a little sad for the younger set that became fans during the season. Heck, it's not even PG rated and maybe even R rated is being kind. So once he got through his first number and calmed down for "Starlight" and "Mad World" you could almost hear a collective sigh of relief from the parents. Next he called Allison out on stage to join him for "Slow Ride" which was even more fun to watch in person than it was on the show. The duo's strong voices compliment each other well and they looked like they were having a blast onstage.

Well, if anyone thought Adam's dancing was suggestive in the first number they probably needed medicated after his final few minutes on stage. Adam rocked a Bowie medley that consisted of "Life on Mars," "Fame" and "Let's Dance." I can imagine this is what it was like when Elvis started taking the stage early in his career. The parents were probably scared-to-death of him and the young girls probably couldn't get enough of him.

Here's the thing though. This guy is a star! A Super Star! Some would argue that he's maybe a little too theatrical but he cut his teeth on Broadway shows; what do you expect? And the vocal talent there is just amazing. He hit notes that most singers can only dream of with such ease? he looked like he was humming under his breath. And the single most important aspect of world-wide super stardom? you simply couldn't take your eyes off of him. I don't care who you are or what you believe about right or wrong? this guy is one of the best entertainers to come along in possibly? ever.

So? how do you follow that? You bring out Kris Allen and let him do his thing. Admittedly, the energy level dropped quite a few notches. But that doesn't mean that Kris wasn't one hundred percent spot on for the music that he performs (because he was) and he is even cuter in person (how is that possible?) Kris started with a cover of Kayne West's "Heartless," a song that was a fan favorite from his time on "Idol," before segueing into "All These Things That I've Done" by the Killers.

Then he traded playing the guitar for the magic piano that came up out of the floor again. He gave a soulful rendition of the Bill Wither's classic "Ain't No Sunshine," which was another fan favorite from the show. Still seated at the piano, Kris began to play again and I recognized the first few notes of Matchbox Twenty's "Bright Lights" immediately. I am a huge Matchbox/Rob Thomas fan and braced myself for that "You are no Rob Thomas" feeling. But it never came. He isn't Rob Thomas. He's Kris Allen. But he's good enough to make a career for himself making music like Rob Thomas did. Now, like millions of others who voted, I can't wait to hear the original music that Kris makes.

Kris finished his set by grabbing the guitar again and leading the crowd through the Beatles classic "Hey Jude." Like his predecessor, his twenty minutes of time seemed to end way too soon.

The magic pianos came out of the floor again and Matt and Scott got things started on Journey's "Don't Stop Believing." They were soon joined by Michael, Megan, Lil, Anoop, Allison, and Danny? each getting to take a turn on vocals. A little over half way through the number, Adam and Kris rose out of the magic floor to deafening screams. The ten idols threw in a little "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye" before waving goodbye to the audience and disappearing backstage. It was a fitting end for these musicians as they close this chapter of their journey and prepare to hang on to their dreams back in the real world.

Overall, this show was a good one. The band did a great job of backing these musicians but not taking them over. The lights and video screens only got annoying a few times but were mostly complimentary to the numbers. The idols have worked hard and deserved this time in the spotlight.

There was just enough variety in the musicianship and stylings of the performers to offer something for everyone. The fans of all ages in the crowd left satisfied and inspired. You can't ask for more than that.

Head to
www.AmericanIdol.com to see the last remaining dates of the tour! Catch it while you still can!

A few more photos of Kris for you...

Editor's note about the photos... this is what happens when your photographer has a family illness at the last minute. I inherited control of the camera which is never a good thing! The photographer was supposed to meet an escort to take them to the stage for Kris' set and the final number. Only, that meant actually leaving the venue to meet in the lobby, which would have left a whole section out of the review. I opted to try to get some pics from the seat. Not as good as they could have been... but we hope you enjoy what we did get! Sorry about that! - Susan

Once Upon A Time, Peter Facinelli Stopped by the Mall to Encourage Teens to Read! True Story!

By: Susan J. Yeager

Driving to the Charleston Town Center on July 11 seemed like any other ordinary Saturday morning drive in West Virginia's capital city. The weather was nice. The traffic was minimal. Everything seemed calm until you entered the mall. The second you swung the doors open to step foot inside, you could feel an excited energy and you could hear way more chatter than usual. Something big must be happening here.

The mall has dedicated the month of July to encouraging teenagers to read and has adopted the slogan "Read! It Changes Everything." Because the hottest book series of the moment is the "Twilight" series by Stephenie Meyer, the Town Center decided to dedicate a few weekends to bringing the book more to life for mall visitors. First up was a visit from Peter Facinelli, the actor who plays "Dr. Cullen" in the movie version of the first "Twilight" book.

Fans were so excited about Peter's visit that they began lining up at 4:00AM for his 12:00PM appearance. They drove in from as far away as Cleveland, Ohio, and some cars sported bumper stickers that read "Warning? I drive like a Cullen." One die-hard fan from Texas had planned her vacation to visit family in the area to coincide with Peter's meet and greet. Mothers lined up with their teenaged daughters and it was clear that they were equally excited.

Thanks to the event being well publicized in local papers and on the web, most of the folks in line knew the rules. There was a VIP line where you paid $40 to have a photo taken with Peter and an 8x10 would be printed on the spot. There was a second line for those just wanting an autograph which cost $25. Once you finished in the photo line, you could take your new 8x10 (or anything else you wanted to have signed) and get in the autograph line. A portion of the proceeds will go to ?City of Joy?, a charity Peter is supporting by joining forces with the company OmniPeace.

At 12:00, Electric 102.7 DJ, Libby Jo, addressed the crowd and began to keep everyone updated on Peter's arrival. He was running a little late and was meeting with some media and mall employees but would be down shortly. About 12:30 Peter appeared at the top of the second story escalator to make his way to Center Court. The screams were overwhelming as everyone caught their first glimpse of the actor and Peter seemed genuinely surprised that so many people had turned out to meet him.

Peter grabbed a microphone and thanked everyone for coming. He explained a little more about the charity and then answered some questions from Libby Jo. He's very excited for everyone to see the next movie in the Twilight series called "New Moon," and is anxious to see all the special effects that will be used in film. He mentioned listening to Kings of Leon and that he digs the music that his co-star Rob Pattinson plays. He made all the girls jealous by saying that after long days on the set, he sometimes unwinds by hanging out with Rob while Rob is playing guitar.

Having just finished a RV trip with his family, he had been watching the Robin Williams movie "RV" over and over lately and enjoys reading books like "Cat and the Hat" to his younger daughters. He encouraged everyone to read as much as they good describing it as "getting to create your own movie in your head." Fans clamored to take pictures with cameras and cell phones while the actor spoke and then it was time to start meeting the fans. The actor took his place in front of a red curtain that would serve as a "Twilight" looking background.

Peter seemed to enjoy talking with everyone as much as they liked talking to him. He complimented them on their dresses, shirts and ball caps, offered one a piece of gum when he was getting one for himself and got on bended knee for younger fans so he could be on their level. While waiting for the next person in line, fans who had screamed his name from upper levels of the mall or from behind barricades would get treated to waves, hello's, smiles for the cameras and even air kisses.

Peter joked with a tall fan by standing on a chair to make himself taller. He took another one without the chair but for that one, he acted like he was going to stand on his tip toes!

One girl in line muttered "I'm next! I'm next!" to no one in particular? probably in an effort to calm herself down before reaching the actor who brought "Dr. Carlisle Cullen" to life onscreen. She was completely shocked when Peter started slow dancing with her as the Twilight soundtrack drifted through nearby speakers. We're kind of surprised she actually managed to walk away without passing out.

Peter blows kisses to the fans on the second floor.

For the most part, the fans held it together in front of Peter but as soon as they had their back to him, their true emotions started to show. Some burst into tears, some tried to steady their shaking hands and many mouthed "Oh my God!" to friends who were waiting for them. When the last of the photos were taken, Peter moved to a table on a riser and began signing autographs. Fans brought books, posters, magazines and other "Twilight" memorabilia and Peter gave each and every person who approached his undivided attention.

What could have been a potential disaster was easily avoided, thanks in part to Peter's easy going manner and unwillingness to leave anyone disappointed. The printer for the photos wasn't moving as fast as everyone had hoped and that left hundreds of fans waiting for more than an hour for their picture with Peter. No one complained because they could ultimately watch Peter meet with everyone while they waited and that was just fine by them. The only problem was, it was getting close to time for Peter to leave and fans who had wanted to get their picture with Peter autographed might miss their chance. You could hear and see the mall employees scurrying around wondering how to resolve the situation? but it was an easy fix. Peter would just simply wait until all the pictures were printed so everyone had their chance.

Several shoppers who haven't experienced the joy that is "Twilight" had a hard time figuring out what all the fuss was about. It just isn't often that an actor who does such a great job bringing a beloved book character to life onscreen drops by your hometown to raise money for a good cause. If you get the chance to shake that actors hand (or give him a hug as some lucky fans did) and tell him you think he did a good job, well then you should take it. Hundreds of "Twilight" fans did just that on that ordinary Saturday and something tells us that they won't ever forget it.

The Charleston Town Center will feature a Twilight Lounge in Center Court until July 25. The lounge features the "Twilight" series of books and magazines that feature the movies cast for visitors to read. There you can cast your vote for "Team Edward" or "Team Jacob," enter writing contests or just hang out and chat with other "Twilight" fans. On July 18, the mall is featuring a "Twilight Fanpire Party." There will be look-a-like and trivia contests, and games. Winners will receive a VIP status to be the first in line to meet Michael Welch who plays "Mike Newton" in the films. Michael will be appearing on July 25 for a Meet and Greet. You can find out more at
CharlestonTownCenter.com

More on the "City of Joy" from Peter:

"Part of the proceeds today are going to the City of Joy which is a learning/healing center being created for women who have been subjected to violence in the Congo. OmniPeace has chosen 'The City of Joy' to be there charity for the year so I've kind of teamed up with OmniPeace and OmniPeace is going to match whatever proceeds I give them. For me, I have three daughters, I grew up with three sisters, when I heard the stories of what was happening to these women in the Congo, it really moved me and I wanted to help do something about it."

How he got involved:

"I have a friend who is friends with the women who runs OmniPeace. She told me that they were donating money to this charity. I went to the Web site and found out more information about it. When they asked me to come here and do this autograph signing, I said 'I'd love to link it to charity.' This was the one I chose." "American Idol" Season 8 Finale (Part 1): It's Anyone's Game

By: Susan J. Yeager with additional reporting by Caitlin Coyne

It seems like just yesterday that we popped our popcorn and settled in to watch thousands of people begin the audition process for the eighth season of "American Idol." The truth is? that was over four months ago and in those 16 weeks, we have laughed, we have cried and we have become huge fans of serious new musical talent. Yes, the television show that discovered the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Daughtry, and David Cook is about to name another grand champion. Will it be Kris Allen or Adam Lambert? America is deciding tonight!

The competition got serious when what was supposed to be a final 12 turned into a final 13. The judges just couldn't let Anoop Desai go that soon. Over the next few weeks, the performers made the most of theme weeks like Motown week, Movies week, and Rock week. One by one the audience said goodbye to early favorites, artists that had to grow on them or others that just weren't their cup of tea. It finally came down to the last two men standing, Adam and Kris.

The finale before the finale started with a very quick recap of Kris and Adam's audition process and journey to the American Idol stage. The montage ended with both auditioners looking straight into the camera and saying "I am the next American Idol." You have to wonder if at the time, they really believed that they could make it that far. We hope that they did.

Ryan came out and introduced the judges. Everyone seemed more dressed up for the occasion. When Ryan introduced Kris and Adam, the crowd in the Nokia Theater went crazy! Ryan explained that because Kris had won the coin toss and decided to perform second, Adam would be singing first.

The final two contestants would perform three songs each. The first song would be their favorite song that they had performed earlier in the season. The second song was chosen by "American Idol" creator Simon Fuller. The last song would be "No Boundaries," the first single for this season's winner. The song was co-written by Kara who was thrilled to have it premiered on such a special night.

Before Adam took the stage, they showed a video of his parents explaining that Adam wouldn't sleep through the night when he was a baby. He would just sit and scream. They said looking back, they think that is how he got the voice he has today.

Adam chose to perform the haunting ballad "Mad World." Randy praised him for showing his sensitive side. Kara told him that he "rocked it again." Paula, who must be the charter member of the Adam Lambert fan club, exclaimed "What a way to start the show!" Simon thought it was a bit "over-theatrical" like "something from 'Phantom of the Opera.' "

Kris' parents confessed in a video that he was to shy to sing for the family when he was growing up. They used to have to pay him a quarter to get him to sing for them. A few years ago, Kris actually gave his Mom a coupon book for her birthday so she can have him sing for her whenever she wants.

Sitting down to a grand piano, Kris chose to sing "Ain't no Sunshine." Randy called it "his best performance ever!" Kara told him that he formed "an intimate bond with the audience" and that he made everyone feel like his was singing to them. Paula praised his uniqueness by saying that he "Allenized" every song and made them his own. Simon confessed that he was surprised when Kris' name was announced as one of the finalist. He then said "I take that all back with that performance!" When questioned who Simon thought was the winner of round one, Simon said that the first round went to Kris!

Adam re-appeared in a suit and tie to perform "Change is Gonna Come," the song chosen by Simon Fuller. Randy praised him by saying "You showed the real reason that you're here? you can sing your face off!" Kara commented that it was his best performance of the season. Paula said that it was the best that she had ever heard him sing and that she was in awe of him. Simon said that he was 100 percent back in the game.

The song choice for Kris was "What's Going on?" Randy thought it was "just a little light" for the massive room. Kara complimented him for "being true to himself from day one." Paula said that he "tore that song up and made Marvin Gaye proud." Simon thought it was like three guys in their bedroom strumming along to Marvin Gaye. He also said that "it was too laid back for a night like this." When Ryan asked him who round two went to? he proclaimed "1 million percent Adam!"

The last song for both contestants was "No Boundaries," a tune co-written by Kara. It's ironic that this would be the last song the future idol will sing before being crowned as it will be the first single for Kris or Adam, if they become this season's winner. In a way, this season's ending is really just the beginning for these amazing performers.

Though the song seemed better suited for Kris' voice and style, Adam was still entertaining to watch. When Randy commented "you could sing the phone book," but that it wasn't his favorite performance, we had to agree. Kara had more attachment to the song and commented "I'm moved. I'm proud and I thank you for giving me that moment here at the end." Paula reminded him that she will be a fan forever before Simon said he was going to judge Adam and not the song. His final comments for Adam? He reminded everyone that "American Idol" was the search for a world-wide star and "I genuinely believe with all my heart that we found that in you."

Kris didn't quite knock the song out of the park either. Randy still praised him for being an amazing competitor. Kara hoped that the audience would judge Kris on his impressive performances throughout the whole season. Paula said his talents made it a compelling finale and Simon said that Kris truly deserved to be on that stage.

Both Adam and Kris' versions of "No Boundaries" will be available on Itunes after tomorrow's grand finale. Be sure to download all of Idol's great performances while you are there!

The show closed with former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood performing "Home Sweet Home." Both Kris and Adam should hope they have the impact on the music industry that Ms. Underwood has forged.

Adam and Kris will spend a lot of time talking to the press this week

After performing for thousands of audience members at the Nokia Theater and for millions of viewers at home, Kris and Adam took a moment to talk with reporters backstage.

When asked about his recent trip home to Conway, Arkansas, Kris replied, "That was the craziest experience so far, to have 20,000 people out there." And as far as the finale was concerned, which song did he feel that he performed best? "For me, it was 'Ain't No Sunshine.' It was the song that I performed before so I had already rehearsed it."

Adam was asked why he chose to perform "Mad World." "The last song was a rock song," Adam began."The second one was picked for me. The first one was Mad World which was a totally different mood; it contrasted better with the other songs." He also mentioned that it presented an opportunity to do the song a little differently. "It gave me the chance to re-invent it through the staging and the wardrobe."

How did Adam feel about the song that was chosen for him? "'Change is Gonna Come' came as a surprise. I wouldn't have picked it for myself right now." We have one more fact to confirm for our "Idol" trivia. Is it true that the two in the finals were actually roommates in the mansion? "We had been roommates since the beginning," Kris confirms. "But we have had our own space for the past month," Adam offers.

Judge, Paula Abdul, also stopped by to share her thoughts on the finale. "It's an interesting one! They're both separate and unique, distinct talents. They both had defining moments tonight. I'm so proud of them." She also mentioned that the judges were completely satisfied with this season's top five contenders. "When it was the last five, we the as judges said we'll be happy with whoever wins." And for that burning question that is on everyone's mind. Are all the judges coming back next year? "Tune in," is all she would say!

Wednesday night's finale should prove to be a nail biter. With only one million votes separating the top two last week and Danny's votes up for grabs, it is anybody's game. The two-hour spectacular show will feature guests like Cyndi Lauper, Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban and your top 13. Tune in to FOX at 8:00PM EST to see who will be your Season 8 "American Idol Winner!" Then head to
www.AmericanIdol.com to find out where you can see the Top 10 on tour this summer.

Best of luck to both the contestants. May the best Man win!

A Chance of a Lifetime was In Store for "Hannah Montana" Fans in West Virginia

The Charleston Town Center in Charleston, West Virginia, made summer days even sweeter by celebrating "Hannah Mall Mania" throughout the month of July. For three consecutive weekends, the mall sponsored "Hannah Montana" look- a-like and lip sync contests, and even got fan's Dads in on the action by hosting a Billy Ray and Miley (Father/Daughter) "Look-A-Like" contest as well. The main event, however, was the July 26 appearance of "Hannah Montana" star, Jason Earles who celebrated the winners of all the events by placing them at the front of the meet and greet line.

As every "HM" fan knows, Jason plays "Jackson Stewart" on the hilarious family show on the Disney Channel. The down-to-Earth actor was thrilled to travel to Charleston to meet with some of the show's most loyal fans.

Even though he wasn't scheduled to appear until 1:00PM, hundreds of fans started lining-up hours before so as not to miss their chance at seeing Jason. Around 12:00 the mall started showcasing the winners of their "Hannah" contests with performances by the lip-sync winners and a back to school fashion show. At the end of the fashion show, girls from the mall's teen board ended the last song by huddling together and sharing a "secret" then pointed to the escalator and there was Jason! The crowd went crazy and the screams were probably heard in every store in the mall.

Jason was met by a DJ from radio station sponsor, Electric 102.7, who asked a few questions. The actor welcomed the crowd and thanked everyone for coming and watching the show. He then jokingly apologized to the parents for the show causing them to have to buy so much memorabilia. We're sure the adults appreciated that.

He also took a minute to let everyone know that they had just finished filming the big screen version of "Hannah Montana." Yes, sometime next year the whole gang will be in a movie theater near you! Jason promises that if you like the show, you will LOVE the movie.

It was time to finally get down to business, and a table was set up on the platform for this TV sibling to get face to face with his fans. Some were really nervous and even crying! Jason often gave those fans a hug or talked with them until they calmed down. He also hi-fived a lot of the people and made sure they knew he was just as excited to meet them as they were to meet him!

Jason met with the winners of the "Jackson Stewart" Look-A-Like contest.

The appearance was supposed to end at 3:00PM because Jason had to catch a flight back to Los Angeles. As it grew closer to three, a lot of fans started to worry. They had been standing in line for a while but it was looking like they were running out of time. Three o'clock came and there were still at least a hundred people line. This could really be devastating for these faithful fans.

Jason wasn't about to let anyone leave disappointed. So even if that meant possibly missing his flight, or having to change his plans, he was going to stay until the last autograph was signed. For over three hours straight, he talked with everyone, shared a few laughs, and created a memory for these fans that will last a lifetime.

It's not often celebrities make appearances in Charleston, West Virginia, and now Jason Earles has set a pretty high standard. Fans flocked to the Charleston Town Center to see one of their TV idols in the hopes that he was as "real" as the character he plays on television. By taking time to meet with everyone, putting nervous fans at ease and staying until the last picture was signed, Jason proved that not only was he grateful for the success that he has been given, but that he truly deserves all of the attention.

If you missed Jason in Charleston, but want to see him, he will be appearing in Cleveland, Ohio on September 14, Charlotte, North Carolina on September 21, Birmingham, Alabama on October 5, Orlando, Florida on October 12 and Jacksonville, Florida on October 19.

"Idol Gives Back" Raises Money, Hope and Awareness

On the Wednesday, April 23 broadcast of "American Idol," an announcement needed to be made. It was so huge that the show called on the President of the United States to deliver the message. President and Mrs. Bush made a special appearance to announce that the second annual "Idol Gives Back" television event had raised over $65 million dollars to help children and young people in the United States and around the world.

There is still time to donate to these incredibly worthy causes. Simply visit
www.Itunes.com and download your favorite performances from the special either as songs or video performances. Better yet, download them both as the money collected goes to great charities that are making life better for the youth of the world. Those charities include the Children's Defense Fund (www.childrensdefensefund.org); The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (www.jointheglobalfund.org); Make It Right (www.makeitrightnola.org); Malaria No More (www.malarianomore.org); Save The Children (www.savethechildren.org); and the Children's Health Fund (www.childrenshealthfund.org).

We sent reporter Bessie Sorge to the special taping to bring you a full report from behind the scenes of this extraordinary special. Read on to find out just how this event was put together!

Backstage at "Idol Gives Back"

EnterTEENment was backstage at the Idol Gives Back taping bringing you the scoop of what went down. The show took place at the Kodak Theatre. This definitely was not your typical "red carpet" event. In fact, the red carpet really didn't exist. The "press room" was located on the 5th floor. Seats were not sold to that floor as they blocked it off for press only.

The press room looked like a typical lobby room that was divided in sections by black backdrops and huge florescent lights. There was one section that was blocked off that contained a red carpet and that section was only for TV interviews (i.e. Fox News, Access Hollywood, etc.). Next to the TV press was a line-up of approximately 10 photographers. On the other side of the room was a make-shift stage with the "American Idol" backdrop, approximately 25 chairs for the journalists and a microphone for the guest star speakers.

The doors were held open for the Mezzanine section. I arrived when Maroon 5 was filming their segment, so I walked in to watch a bit. They filmed their segment prior to the scheduled 7:30 rolling of the camera. There was a television set up in the press room that streamed through the speakers so that we could watch the show as it filmed with live feed from the stage. I took my seat in the journalist pit and watched TV while I awaited the arrival of the guest speakers.

The first people to come into the press room were the various speakers of each of the Charities. They educated each of the journalists about the background of the charities and how the donations America gave during "Idol Gives Back" would be put into use and how they would help each individual survive the terrible conditions in their countries. You may not realize how many people are affected from such terrible diseases, such as Malaria and AIDS. These are two of the biggest problems that are killing children and families today. The purchase of a simple mosquito net that costs $10.00 would protect an entire family from getting Malaria.

The first celebrity guest appearance backstage was Snoop Dogg, who performed "Can't Say Goodbye" with Charlie Wilson, and had about 30 kids from his football league onstage. Snoop Dogg was sporting an Idol Gives Back hoodie that said "Coach Snoop" at the bottom. A huge supporter of the charities involved with Idol Gives Back, Snoop Dogg was thrilled to be a part of this event. "To see my kids come on stage and to see us possibly be able to raise some awareness and some attention on the things I am doing in the community with the kids and try to generate some money to help us out because these kids are at risk and its so easy to join a gang, its so easy to get drugs, but its so hard to do something right with yourself," Snoop told reporters. "So we try to give them an opportunity to do something right for themselves. Hopefully, this will raise some awareness to them."

The next celebrity guest appearance was John Legend, who also performed on the show singing "Show Me" accompanied by the piano. Dressed in a nice off-white Calvin Kline suit, John came backstage eager to speak about the important cause of the night. His impression of the Idol Gives Back special was that "it's a good idea . . . especially for a show like American Idol that commands so much attention from the American public and has such high ratings for them to do something that gives back." He sees the show as the opportunity to teach the younger generation "to realize that when you have the ability to help someone you should help them." The support for Idol Gives Back has a personal effect on John's career, in that "part of what I do is to give back and to inspire people, and to help them when I can."

Heart was next to join the journalists in a little one-on-one interview session. The best performance of the night goes to them, hands down. They performed a duet with the Dutchess herself, Fergie, singing the oldie but goodie "Barracuda." One journalist asked how Heart became involved in the show and Heart gave all credit to Fergie, "Fergie covered 'Barracuda' in Shrek 3 and so that's why she asked us to come up with her." Anyone who is familiar with 'Barracuda' will know that it's a long song, so Heart explained that "we were kinda sweating it a little with the arrangement and so was Fergie. It took two chances to get it right and the first two times we did it we got it very wrong, but we actually did it right when it mattered." Just by watching that performance we thought so too! Heart recognizes the positive message of the show saying "It's really a big honor for us to get like 3 minutes in to do something big."

Next came another pop-Idol of the 80s, Annie Lennox, who performed "Many Rivers to Cross" accompanied only by the piano. Known for her huge support in the promotion of AIDS awareness, it was no surprise that Annie was a part of Idol Gives Back. She claims her inspiration derives from Nelson Mandela, the President of South Africa, who is a huge activist for AIDS awareness. Annie's take on Idol Gives Back is that "it touches me so much because the medium of television is very powerful and it is going to go into the living rooms of many Americans." As an activist of AIDS awareness, Annie has traveled the world and helps to educate people about the effects this disease has on millions of people, she states, "I think people are really hungry for a kind of consciousness shift where we feel the connectivity between the different countries." Her documentary is such an emotional piece. "To have the opportunity to go directly into someone's life," she explains, "and witness the struggles they have to endure is beyond a university course." She was so moved by her experience that she "has tremendous concern about those kids and I think about them every single day."

The next guest was one of my Idols (and probably many of yours too)? Carrie Underwood. After winning the American Idol title in Season 4 of the show, she has had two very successful albums: "Some Hearts" and "Carnival Ride."

Carrie is one of the most popular female musicians in Country Music right now. Her dress was a stunning design by Farah Angsara. She explained why she chose her gown: "My song is very serious and I was sitting down . . . well, if I'm sitting I might as well wear something that's just over the top beautiful."

The singer spoke of her success being a result of American Idol and says that "it's always great coming back to Idol." She doesn't get to watch the show as much because she is on tour now, but that she "got Tivo on my bus." From what Carrie has seen so far on "Idol" she concludes that it is "a great season" and "there's a lot of great people and they all have their own individual style." However, Carrie declined to say a favorite.

Coming from a family of teachers, (both her mom and her sister are teachers) Carrie is a huge supporter of education, stating that "I really wish that somebody would step up and do something for education because we're investing (and) that's a huge investment in our future." Her true passion for Idol Gives Back shined through with her song choice (George Michael's "Praying for Time"), Guess Simon cannot complain about this one. Carrie states that her song choice "is not about self promoting, it's not about singing your latest single, it's not about trying to be the most downloaded whatever on Itunes, it's all about getting people to call in and do something and that is a song that I've always loved and I've always loved the message." Choosing the song may have came easily to Carrie, but it took a while to get it just right, "it took me forever to be able to sing that through without crying and I know if that song makes me feel that way then maybe it will make a few other people feel that way, as well and maybe make them feel strongly about doing something." This is the reason I like Carrie Underwood as a person. Not only is she well versed, but she is probably the most selfless celebrity I have ever crossed paths with.

One of the biggest draws of the night was none other than Miley Cyrus, who performed two different songs. It is no surprise that the crowd went wild for her. Backstage Miley was really honored to be part of this event. She expressed that having "that self power and be able to say 'okay no matter how much I'm putting in I'm making a difference'." Her dedication and advocacy towards the education of these children is that of someone beyond her years. "Not only is money needed, but just time," she reasoned. "There are so many kids out there that I met, so many children that were just walking around alone. I know they would love to have friends there and have people coming just bringing hope."

In a filmed documentary Miley and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, met up with a family that is so poor they cannot afford to buy books to educate their children. Miley spoke of her travels to Kentucky where her parents were from and expressed her desire to show the world how bad some towns have it.

On a lighter note, if you are wondering where she shops, her top was from Delias! If you go to www.delias.com you may just be able to purchase yourself one for your own closet!

The final celebrities stopping by were Gloria Estefan and Sheila E, who also performed on the show singing "Make it Happen." Gloria is a huge fan of American Idol and watches it every week with her daughter. "I know the pressure they're under," Gloria admits, "because as performers we what they are going through, week after week, live, standing there being criticized."

If you want to get Sheila E's shoes they are made by J.Lo. However, Sheila admitted that her manager "blinged my shoes," and Gloria joked that "J.Lo's gonna be mad." Sheila joked back, "J.Lo should have put the shoe out like this."

The opening number was high on the list of my favorite performances of the night. The Season 7 Idol contests all came out singing Rhianna's "Please Don't Stop The Music" along with former cast members from "So You Think You Can Dance." Together they combined dance moves and singing. The only other time we get a glimpse of the contestants is the show closing song where all the contestants sang "Shout To The Lord". After the song it looked like I was in New York City on New Years Eve. So much confetti dropped in the auditorium that I swear people will be cleaning it up for days.

Another key performance to look out for is Mariah Carey, who I feel put on the performance of a lifetime. I have to say that Mariah Carey looked the best she has ever looked in her life, and her vocals just blew everyone away. Clad in a tight black outfit and straight hair, she camethisclose to shattering the glass lens of the camera when she hit her high vocals. Old school Mariah is back and better than ever!

I was really moved by the stories that were told during Idol. Many celebrities came together for this show and traveled throughout the world to film documentary segments to educate America about the poverty and disease that is affecting millions of people around the world. Some of the most moving segments include: Simon Cowell's trip to New York visiting a family that could not afford health care; Annie Lennox's documentary about AIDS victims; and Randy and Paula's visit to Goshen Elementary School where the town is so bad that kids fear leaving their homes and are obese due to lack of resources (parks, pools) and nutritious foods (fruits, veggies).

Other documentary films include Celine Dion in South Africa, Forest Whitaker in Africa, Reese Witherspoon in New Orleans, Brad Pitt in New Orleans, Eli and Peyton Manning in New Orleans, to name a few. The show also has Public Service Announcements from celebrities such as Ellen Degeneres (who says she is Oprah), Jonas Brothers, Fantasia, Jennifer Connolly, Kobe Bryant, Whoopie Goldberg, Julianne Moore, the Beckhams, Kiefer Sutherland, Dolly Parton, Mary Murphy, George Lopez, Keith Urban, and many more, all requesting people to call in and donate (and EnterTEENment requests you do too!!!!).

Tonight's show is definitely not one to miss, between all of the action-packed performances, the comedic dialogue (Robin Williams, Sarah Silverman, and Jimmy Kimmel) you will not want to leave your television set.

Be sure to tune into American Idol tonight at 7:30 p.m. And most importantly, don't forget to donate. Even a little will go a long way to helping people in need. So, please dial the numbers below and vote for this worthy cause!

You can donate online at: https://www.idolaid.com/AidForm.asp for more information.

You can donate via telephone by calling: 1 (877) IDOL AID or 1 (877) 436 5243

We leave you with the show-closing words of Ryan Secreast: "The people you've helped will never meet you, but let us thank you on their behalf."

Martina McBride and Little Big Town Pack A Powerful One-Two Punch
by: Susan J. Yeager

Sometimes talent is so big and so obvious, that people feel honored just to be in its presence. That's probably how the audience felt at the Charleston Civic Center when the Martina McBride "Waking Up Laughing Tour" made a West Virginia stop.

The show got underway with vocal group Little Big Town sending perfectly blended a capella sounds through the venue and immediately grabbing everyone's attention. Before long, the group launched full-fledged into songs from their platinum selling album, "The Road to Here." Choosing just the right mash-up of up-tempo numbers ("Good as Gone," "Lookin' For A Reason" and the whimsical "Welcome to the Family") and slower ballads ("Bring it on the Home" and "Stay"), the group showcased why the unique make-up of two males and two females creates just the right blend for musical success.

The highlights of their set included a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way," which had the crowd singing at the top of their lungs and the frenzy that was created when the single line "I Feel No Shame" echoed through the room followed by the furor of recognition of the group's biggest hit "Boondocks." Finally getting the crowd on their feet, Karen, Kimberly, Jimi and Phillip left the lasting impression they surely hoped to imprint.

After a set change, Martina McBride appeared in a cloud of smoke and wasted no time wowing the crowd with her recent single "Anyway." She then went back to the earlier stages of her fifteen year career by singing her first number one song "Wild Angels."

Backed by a stellar band, she scattered songs from the new album ("Waking Up Laughing") throughout the set including "Cry, Cry (Til the Sun Shines)," "Tryin' to Find a Reason, (in concert, the song features her brother, on the album, it features Keith Urban)" and her latest single "How I Feel."

She also made time in the set to feature songs off her last studio album, a collection of remakes of country classics called "Timeless." The singer (who has been crowned the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year four times) treated the audience to "(I Never Promised you a) Rose Garden," and then paid tribute to Loretta Lynn by singing "You Ain't Woman Enough (to Take My Man)." The Kris Kristofferson-penned tune "Help me Make it Through the Night" was a definite crowd pleaser.

Literal showstoppers included the hit song "Where Would You Be" that should solidify Martina as one of the world's greatest vocalists ever and "Broken Wing." Both songs brought the entire audience to their feet for standing ovations so long, the gracious singer was prompted to quip, "You guys spoil me!"

Just when the audience thought they had reached the height of impressiveness, the band broke into "Independence Day" and the crowd witnessed Martina weave stage magic that only a fifteen year veteran with a God-given set of pipes can create. The audience proved they knew every word to the song by trying to sing it louder than Martina. Silly crowd.

Wondering how she could ever top an ending like that with an encore, the crowd was pleasantly surprised to see the singer pay tribute to a couple of her favorite 80's artists by wrapping up with covers of the Journey hit "Don't Stop Believin'" and Pat Bentar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot."

In terms of harmony and vocal power, it doesn't get much better than Little Big Town and Martina McBride. If you ever doubt that there is real, undeniable talent in Country Music? buy a ticket to this show. The combination of these two acts is truly a knockout.
