The "As The World Turns" Fan Club Luncheon Continued
We started out having lunch, and all the actors came out on stage just to sort of smile and wave at us, and thank us for coming. When Agim Kaba (Aaron, ATWT) and Peyton List (Lucy, ATWT) came out, I stood up and screamed with all my lungs (same went for Bailey Chase [Chris, ATWT] and Jessica Dunphy [Alison, ATWT]). Agim looked adorable. He had on a baseball hat and blue jeans and was just so cute. Oh my gosh! Let me just say it again- Agim is adorable. *sigh*
The first people that I wanted to meet were Peyton List and Agim Kaba. Myself, my friend Jess, and my family rushed to their table almost immediately. We were one of the first people to get to them. Agim had taken off his baseball hat- his hair was a little bit messed up after that. My mom actually said, "I wonder if he knows that he looks like that?" She was really loud and I was ssssoooooo embarrassed that Agim might've heard. Then my dad asked the same question. Luckily, I don't think Agim heard like I thought he had. Then, we were up at! I said hi to Peyton and handed her the photo I'd gotten of her, and introduced myself. She and I had been talking online for quite some time, and I wanted to see if she knew who I was. Then, I went to meet Agim... oh my goodness. I don't know how I managed to talk to him, but I did!!! I gave him my picture to sign, and I can't remember much of what we said to each other at all, I was just in a state of shock for being so close to him. I know he asked me what my name was. Oh my gosh!!!! LOL. Then, I asked for a picture with them, so I got between them for a picture. Agim. Had. His. Arm. Around. Me. *deep breath* Then, I left, not wanting to take up too much of his time. My sis went up to them later, and had a Teen Vogue magazine with a picture of Peyton modeling, which Agim had never seen before, and was trying to grab it out of her hands, saying, "I've never seen THIS before!" and he actually ended up ripping the magazine, and Peyton's like, "You ripped her magazine!". Those two were very cute together, just like they are on the show!
Next on my list was Bailey Chase and Jessica Dunphy. By then, the line for them was HUGE!!!!! They were so popular, it was unbelievable. I expected them to pull as huge crowd, as the most popular onscreen couple on the show. We finally got up there to meet them, and let me just say- they were the nicest stars out of everybody there. I was so glad that I went there with them already being my favorite couple- I'm very pleased to know that I support two incredibly nice people, I was worried they might not be as nice as I'd thought. But oh wow, they were sssooooooooooo nice!!!!!! OK, a few words on Jessica, okay? The camera makes her look so much bigger than she actually is. While it is a well known fact that the camera adds 10 pounds, it has to add 40 pounds to Jessica, because that girl is super skinny. She's skinny on the show, and she's super skinny in real life. It was unbelievable. She had to be the skinnest actor. I could not believe how little her waist was.
I finally got to the front of the line, and told Bailey and Jessica that I run a site for them, and gave them the URL to http://aliris.tk. They've seen it before!!!! I also told them about the Aliris Yahoo Group (http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/alirisgroup), and then my dad piped up and said that I invented the name "Aliris". True, but I couldn't believe he told them that! It just felt like bragging. Bailey goes, "Yeah, we've heard about the Aliris Group!" Wow, that made me feel special. Then I talked to Jessica, and told her that I'm the girl who runs JessicaDunphy.net. She said, "REALLY?!?!" and said that she loves the site. She says fans always email her and tell her to check it out. I tell you, she thanked me at least five times for running the site for her, saying it meant a lot to her. I felt really great about that! She even signed my picture of her saying, "Thanks for the website".
Then I switched to Bailey and got his autograph. He was a total sweetheart. As he made out his autograph, he asked me how long I'd been watching the show. I told him four years, and he was impressed. After he gave the autograph, my dad started talking yet again and said, "We saw you before the show though, man! On Billboard Dad! What's up with you getting all the young chicks? First the Olsen twins, and now Jessica Dunphy?" Bailey was cracking up, and Jessica's like, "The Olsen twins (laughs)! Yeah, Bailey, why is that?" And Bailey laughed, and said, "Some guys just get all the luck!" Then, I took a pic of Bailey and Jessica together, me between them, and one of me and Jessica together.
Afterwards, I saw Jessica with her head down, and her hair all in front of her- like when you blow dry it after a shower or something- and then she flipped it back up. Noticing I was watching, she smiled, and said, "My hair was NOT cooperating this morning!" and laughed. Papa gave Bailey golf balls that his company makes (Bailey seemed very interested, and said he would definitely check out the site) and we left.
Now for Ernest Waddell (Curtis). I wasn't a huge fan of his character going to the luncheon, but left a huge Curtis fan! After Bailey and Jessica, he was my favorite person to meet. I just asked for a picture with him, so I got next to him for a picture and then left, not wanting to take up too much of his time. I came back about two more times to "meet" Ernest again, and the third time a photographer from Soap Opera Digest magazine took a picture of me with him. I told him I hope he gets a huge storyline as soon as possible. Seriously he was a total sweetheart. Later, my sister met him, and she had just as good an experience with Ernest. Ernest signed her t-shirt saying, "Callie- I love your name. Ernest." He was just too cool.
I met many other 'As The World Turns' cast members that day. It was by far the best experience of my life, and I hope to go back in the next few years, as well, as meet my favorites all over again!
