"Thor: The Dark World" Ignites a Battle Between Light and Darkness!

In Marvel's new visually stunning "Thor: The Dark World," directed by Alan Taylor, the battle to uphold peace among the universe continues. It has been some time since the mighty Avenger, played by Chris Hemsworth, has saved Earth from his brother Loki, but things are far from safe. There exists a hidden evil, known as the Aether, that had been presumed destroyed by Bor, Thor's grandfather. However, it could not be eradicated and was hidden where no one could find it. Now, thousands of years later, the Aether reaches out to the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim.

The Dark Elves are a malicious species, lead by Malekith, played by Christopher Eccleston, that want to use the Aether to extinguish all light from the universe and send it into darkness. This can only be accomplished during the Convergence, a time when all nine realms of the universe will align. Thor returns to present day Earth and reunites with Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, whose team had been unknowingly studying the Convergence and its effects on Earth.

The real drama takes place when Thor must make the decision to team up with his evil stepbrother Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston, who is being held prisoner on his home planet of Asgard. The question is, can Thor trust Loki not to betray him? The film makes the audience want to believe the brothers can work side by side but with Loki's sociopathic ways it is hard to have faith.

All together, they battle Malekith in hopes to save the nine realms from eternal darkness. The reunion of Hemsworth, Portman and cast in this sequel will not disappoint Marvel fans of all ages. Between plot twist, fist clenching fight scenes, and 3D graphics displayed throughout the film it is sure to heighten your senses and bring you to the edge of your seats.
